Would counselling at Cedar Tree be right for me?

We aim to provide an impartial service for everyone in the community aged 18+, regardless of race, income, spiritual beliefs, gender, age or ability. If you have any concerns about whether we would be able to support you with a particular issue, please ask about this at the time of your assessment or request a discussion beforehand.

Some of the issues that might bring people to counselling are as follows:

  • Challenges in romantic/platonic/family relationships
  • Grief following the death of a loved one
  • Anxiety and/or fear
  • Depression/low mood, difficulties with functioning
  • Struggle to adapt to changes in circumstances
  • Feelings of isolation or unfulfillment
  • Wanting to explore recent or past experiences
  • Desiring change in different areas of life
  • Wanting to break repeating patterns of behaviour

How much do sessions cost?

There is not a fixed charge for counselling at Cedar Tree, but an agreed contribution for each session is requested. This is discussed during the first visit and we suggest an amount of between £5 – £40.

We do not want anyone to be excluded from counselling due to anxiety about the cost, but we ask that you consider what is affordable for you at this point in your life.  The donations cover the cost of overheads such as our rent, utility bills and general day to day management.

We welcome ongoing financial support from friends and former clients.
