What does counselling involve?
Counselling is...
- An opportunity to talk about life challenges in an accepting, caring relationship with a trained counsellor
- Based on listening and exploring together, rather than advice-giving
- A confidential setting (though there are a couple of exclusions that protect you and others)
- An environment where thoughts and feelings can be considered and understood better
- A space where people can find freedom from unhelpful patterns of behaviour
- A chance to find the inner strength and resilience needed to make good choices and move forward
